CURRENCY AND PAYMENTS
•The unit of currency in Ecuador is the US Dollar. Credit cards are accepted, especially Visa and Mastercard, but there is a large service charge added on to the bill.
•Please check if all meals are included in your itinerary, additional drinks or alcoholic beverages must be paid for. On Galápagos Cruises or in the Rainforest Lodges, you will find a card in your cabin where you have to write down what you consume which is then charged to your account.
•About tipping and gratuities, according to our experience, we recommend that you determine the extent of tipping according to the quality of services that you have received. In the case of an excellent service we suggest USD$5 per day per person for the guide and USD$70 to 100 to be split between all the crew or staff. Please take note that this is only a suggestion, tipping and gratuities are very personal.

PREVIOUS PREPARATION
•It is important that you prepare your body for your trip. We suggest that you walk or trek with your personal gear before coming so that you will be sure that it fits perfectly and is comfortable.
•Check some information about Ecuador, there are excellent books and videos that will help you in your trip. Please contact us if you need that we send you a list of Ecuador recommend reading books.
