Travel to the Highlands and its Volcanoes

This trip offers you the opportunity to discover one of the most well conserved areas of our Highlands, the Antisana Ecological reserve, where you will admire a beautiful lake called Mica located in the foothills of the Majestic Antisana Volcano (5,758 mts, 18,886.24 ft). This reserve is considered a hot spot for birdwatching on the High Andes of Ecuador.

Cotopaxi National Park is another beautiful place that you will discover on this trip, here you will be on the highest active volcano of the world (5,897 mts, 19,342.16) surrounded by a great view.
Driving on an alternative countryside road, parallel to the Panamerican Highway, we will arrive to Patate Valley, famous for its great variety of fruit production. This place offers the best view of Tungurahua Volcano (5,023 mts, 16,274.52 ft), that at the moment is active and you will see its amazing eruptions from a safe area. During your stay in this peaceful valley, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Baños region, which is the entrance gate to the southern Ecuadorian rainforest. This area is characterized by its magnificent weather, hot springs and waterfalls. Riobamba is the city where you will start your train adventure to the famous Devil's Nose. During the six hour trip you will enjoy a magic landscape fully surrounded by Chimborazo (6,310 mts, 20,696.8 ft), the highest mountain in Ecuador. Another important place to visit will be the Ingapirca ruins, the most representative inca construction in Ecuador. There you can see the perfect stone carved work of the incas.
To conclude this spectacular trip you will spend a day in Cuenca, a city that was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by United Nations, because of its rich history and well conserved Spanish colonial architecture.
